I am writing in response to the article about Bingham High's "dictator week" ("NAACP investigating report of racism at Bingham High," April 4). The accusations made are absurd. If the parent that complained or Jeanetta Williams had spent even a moment in that classroom, like I have, they would realize that every single one of those students, as well as the teacher, would never do anything racist.

I know. I was in the very political science class in question. The teacher of this class has taught at Bingham High School for over 30 years. Only in light of what happened at Alta High has "dictator week" become a problem. Yes, the male students wear dark suits … they are required to dress in more formal attire the whole week. The girls are all in dresses. What they wear during "dictator week" is what the students would wear to church every week. How is this an offense? Often, students are required to dress in their best clothes for presentations in any class.
