SALT LAKE CITY — Simply Mac, a Utah-based retailer of Apple electronic products, announced it has acquired a similar, smaller Utah company, MacDocs, which has one retail store at 1435 S. State St. in Salt Lake City.

Simply Mac has had seven stores in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

The new store will now do business under the Simply Mac banner, and a grand opening is scheduled July 22.

“We were excited to reach an agreement with the owners of MacDocs,” Simply Mac president Steve Bain said in a press release. Simply Mac will continue to service MacDocs' customers and has retained most of MacDocs' employees, according to the release.

The store will be Simply Mac's first in downtown Salt Lake City. It has other stores on Foothill Drive and in Fort Union.
