SALT LAKE CITY — Utah baseball player C.J. Cron was named to his fifth All-America team on Thursday, as he was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-America team. Cron also earned first-team All-Midwest Region honors from the ABCA.

Cron was selected as the first-team first baseman by all five teams. He also earned honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball newspaper and Perfect Game.

Cron finished his career at Utah with a school-record .396 batting average. He had 61 doubles, 46 home runs and 198 RBI during his three years at Utah.

Cron was selected as the 17th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, going to the Los Angeles Angels.
