SALT LAKE CITY — Tracy Aviary unveiled its new visitors center Wednesday at the aviary in Liberty Park. The 10,000-square-foot facility features new entry facilities, multipurpose areas, a gift shop and office space for aviary staff, according to a press release.
The visitors center includes an interactive sculpture featuring "flying" wings, as well as space for classes, camps, corporate events and parties. The press release says that the center provides much-needed space to encourage year-round activity at Tracy Aviary.
The center is the third major project at Tracy Aviary funded by a 2008 Salt Lake County bond. The other two projects were renovation of the South American Pavilion and total overhaul of underground utilities.
