BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — One of Argentina's richest women, Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat, has died.
The businesswoman built a billion-dollar fortune with her late husband's cement companies and became a leading art collector. Her family says she died Saturday at age 90. It hasn't disclosed the cause and says her funeral will be strictly private.
Fortabat built her husband's Loma Negra cement company into a billion-dollar business and became one of the world's top modern art collectors. She bought so many master works that she built her own museum in Buenos Aires to hold them. The collection includes an Andy Warhol portrait of Fortabat, painted in the same style as his famous Marilyn Monroe series.
