Stephen Fife (third round, 2008, Red Sox) and Rick Anton (eighth round, 2012, Dodgers) were also taken in the first 10 rounds.

Morin, a catcher, was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection in his first season with the Utes. The junior college transfer and Park City resident led Utah with a .314 batting average, 35 RBIs, and tied for the team lead with 69 hits. He led the Pac-12 with 33 runners caught stealing.

In addition, Utah signee Caleb Frare was drafted in the 11th round by the New York Yankees (367th overall).
