The best part about working on “Mormon Times TV” is that I’m consistently inspired by amazing people — most of whom rise above their challenges and weaknesses and go on to make great lives for themselves, which can even motivate those they touch to change or move forward. Our entire show this Sunday is packed with the stories of people who are standing firm in their faith, helping others along the way.
And, due to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ general conference airing in our usual time slot, be sure to catch us at 4:30 p.m. — just this Sunday.
On this week’s show, you’ll get to meet Brigham Young University football standouts, Kyle Van Noy and Ziggy Ansah. They’re good friends, and Ansah hopes to be drafted this month and headed to the NFL. Both young men have incredible backstories and, this Sunday, you’ll hear them discuss football, friendship and faith.
She’s a wife, mother and songwriter — but you may know Katherine Nelson best from her role as Emma Smith, Joseph Smith’s wife. You’ll see how that whole experience let her know that God truly is in the details of our lives, plus you’ll get to hear some of her beautiful music.
“The Book of Mormon Musical” is now on the London stage, and the LDS Church is taking advantage of that moment. Not only is the church advertising in the musical’s playbill, but also advertising in the train and Tube stations and on those famous double-decker buses, featuring Mormons in the United Kingdom. You’ll get a look and find out why the church feels it needs to “reintroduce” itself in this part of the world.
Also this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on a special edition of “Mormon Times TV,” you’ll see the Angel Moroni up close. He adorns the tops of most LDS temples, yet there’s amazing detail work on these gold statues that most people never get to see. You’ll hear the interesting story behind one of the iconic images of the LDS Church and see how the Angel Moroni statues are made.
And there’s a new boy band made up primarily of LDS youth. They perform pop music with positive messages — and they’re heading out on a big Asian tour. You’ll get to meet them this Sunday.
