Obituary: FADER, BETH

Beth Glover Fader 1929 2013Salt Lake Michigan Beth Glover Fader passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 16th, with loving family and friends by her side.Beth was born in East Midvale, Utah on April 5, 1929 to Ivan and Verla Glover. She married Lester Fader in Salt Lake City on June 2, 1951. She is survived by her daughters Paula (Walt) Garff, Elise Fader, and Lesli Baker, her sisters Ruby and Kristine, and brothers Jim (Merlene), Alan (Margaret), Mark (Chris) and Michael (Dixie), sister-in-law Thelma, grandchildren Parry, Marissa, Corey and Beauchamp, and her many nieces and nephews. Beth was predeceased by her husband Les, her brothers Gene, Ted, David and Dennis, brothers-in-law Nelson, Maxwell (Betty), and Irving (Shirley) and sister-in-law Libby (Caleb).Beth's lifelong accomplishments are many. She enjoyed teaching, serving, and loving her three daughters and grandchildren. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Utah, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and two Master's degrees from the University of Michigan. Beth worked at Houghton Elementary as a reading specialist and at Saline Middle School as an English teacher. One of her greatest joys was when some of her students won a writing competition sponsored by the state of Michigan. She also served on reading committees in the state of Michigan. As a Relief Society President Beth set the standard for what it meant to be an LDS woman. The charity that she showed to others was exhibited throughout her life by the service, love, and monetary assistance she freely gave.Among her many interests and talents, Beth loved to travel and was the quintessential shopper. She was a superb cook and dessert maker. Beth also enjoyed entertaining, often giving parties and having guests over. No one could ever come to her home without being fed. Beth was a prolific reader and in later years, she delighted in putting together jigsaw puzzles, especially with her beloved friends Irene Dernberger, Marjorie Hill, and Doris and Wally Patrick.Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, UT. A visitation will be held from 10-10:50 AM prior to services at the mortuary. Beth will be buried alongside her husband Lester at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following organizations: The Lester Fader Scholarship.
