Members of the American Fork High School Marching Band were among the more than 8,000 participants Thursday in the 88th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Roughly 3.5 million people gather for the parade in New York, and about 50 million watch the parade on TV. Band director John Miller led 230 students through the streets of New York on Thursday, describing the experience as "incredible beyond belief," a perfect culmination to a year that also included winning state and regional competitions. The band was previously in the parade in 2007. Groups can march in the parade once every seven years.
