The award-winning game "Minecraft" is now available for the Xbox One. This platform offers gamers a new way to play this ridiculously popular game, as the worlds are up to 36 times larger than what was available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
Those unfamiliar with "Minecraft" may not appreciate the advances the Xbox One platform offers, but experienced gamers will immediately notice the expanded game play.
"Minecraft" is all about building your virtual world. The Xbox One version offers options for the type of play. In creative mode, the user is offered an unlimited supply of building materials and is free to explore and build without any danger. In this mode, users can also fly around to see their new world from a whole new perspective. In survival mode, the user must gather all materials for building and survival while defending his land from all types of monsters.
Yes, there are monsters in this game — wild animals and large spiders that can attack, plus creepers, skeletons and ghosts. When the sun goes down, the "Minecraft" world can be a dangerous place. This might be frightening for some small children, but it is not overdone and these monsters are tame compared with most of today's video games.
"Minecraft" does have a violent side, as gamers can attack animals for food and fight other characters as well as be attacked themselves. It also is possible to destroy almost everything in the virtual world. However, "Minecraft" is not overly focused on the violence. This game is much more about creation. The real beauty of this game is building complex designs from simple building blocks.
Both those familiar with Minecraft and those who are new to it should find hours of enjoyable, family friendly gaming on this new platform.
