Margaret Elizabeth (Pittenger) Malone1923 ~ 2014Margaret Elizabeth (Pittenger) Malone, 91 of American Fork, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at home.She was born January 12, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Charles and Florence Pittenger. Margaret graduated from South High School in 1940 and received a BA in Dietetics from the University of Utah in 1945. She married the late John Harry Malone in 1948 and they began life together in Boise, Idaho. they later lived in Provo, and Bountiful, Utah, before moving to American Fork in 1963.Margaret was an avid gardener and reader and an active member of the LDS Church. She served for 14 years as the dietician at American Fork Hospital from 1968-1982 and was involved in community service with beautification, the library, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and other activities. She and Harry served in the Tampa Florida LDS mission from 1982-1984 and also served in the Provo Temple. They also enjoyed traveling and cultivated many friends.Margaret is survived by two children: Chuck Malone (Carol) of Fort Worth, Texas and Peggy Brinkerhoff (Jack), of American Fork. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Paula Malone (Dallas, Texas), Brenda (Adam) Cluff (The Colony, Texas), Bruce (Emily) Malone (Troy, Michigan), Mattew Brinkerhoff (Portales, New Mexico), Chris Brinkerhoff (American Fork, Utah) and three great grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the the LDS American Fork North Stake (975 N. 60 E.) A viewing will be held at Anderson & Sons Mortuary(49 E. 100 N., American Fork) Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in American Fork Cemetery.
