PAYSON — Back in September, Shannon Abbott posted a mom-inspired rendition of "Hallelujah" on Facebook that she wrote for a Payson talent show. According to her calculations, the video went on to get more than 35 million views from her Facebook page, a radio station's Facebook page and her YouTube channel.
It doesn't seem like Abbott has stopped to catch her breath in the past two months. Just 10 days after "Mommy's Hallelujah" was published, Abbott posted a mommy rendition of "Yesterday" and went on to post six more covers and rewrites of popular songs on her YouTube channel, including her own version of Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" inspired by all of the questions kids ask their parents.
Later this month, Abbott will release a five-song Christmas album titled "Remember the Reason" funded through a GoFundMe campaign.
The album will be released on iTunes and Amazon November 21st and will include songs like "What Child Is This" and "Oh Holy Night." Visit her Facebook page then for more information.
