SALT LAKE CITY — Gentri recently made No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Single Chart for the song “What Child is This?/I Wonder as I Wander,” which was released as one of three songs on “Merry Christmas,” the group’s Christmas extended play.
The Utah-based musical group records under the Shadow Mountain Records label and is composed of local tenors Casey Elliott, Brad Robins and Bradley Quinn Lever. The name Gentri is short for Gentlemen Trio.
“The response to Gentri’s launch as a group and to their unique, cinematic pop sound has been truly overwhelming,” said Bart Olson, general manager of Shadow Mountain Records, in a news release. “When we first signed Gentri to our label, we knew we had found unique talent. I think we are just scratching the surface of seeing just how remarkable and talented these gents truly are.”
The Christmas EP is the group’s second release. Their self-titled EP, “Gentri,” was released earlier this year and “spent 10 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on two different charts, including three weeks at No. 2 on both the Classical and Classical Crossover charts,” according to a news release.
