SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority will be replacing the tactile safety strips at Ballpark TRAX Station starting Sunday.

Construction is expected to take approximately three weeks. The station will remain open during this time, and work is unlikely to create TRAX delays, UTA officials said in a prepared statement.

Temporary platforms will be constructed on either side of the existing structure to allow passengers to board and exit trains. Passengers will be able to tap on and off but will not have access to ticket vending machines.

Those who need to purchase tickets should obtain a payment requirement card from construction personnel stationed on the platform and pay at the end of their trip.
