Rolando Villazón will perform with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for its annual Christmas concerts which will be held in the Conference Center on Dec. 8-10 at 8 p.m. Villazón will also join the choir for the “Music and the Spoken Word” broadcast on Dec. 11.

Villazón plans to bring his entire family to share in the experience. They will join the excess of 60,000 people who are expected to attend. Villazón previously worked with the choir on its recording of Handel's "Messiah."

The well-known tenor will not only sing but will narrate the show.

"He will be very much carrying the entire show this year in a wonderful way," said Mack Wilberg, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's music director, on KSL 1160 AM.

Tickets are available starting Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. MT on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead of the random selection ticket distribution that has been used in the past, those wishing to attend the concert must obtain tickets through lds.org/events. Patrons may request up to four tickets. No tickets will be available by phone or in person. After obtaining tickets online, tickets can either be mailed or attendees can print them from their computer.

Tickets are not required to attend “Music and the Spoken Word.” The broadcast will also be held in the Conference Center and will begin at 9:30 a.m. Patrons are asked to be seated by 9:15 a.m.
