PROVO — The BYU rugby team will be going for its fourth straight Varsity Cup title after demolishing Arkansas State 68-20 at South Field on Saturday.

The Cougars will be facing fellow rugby power Cal — for the fourth straight time — on May 7, also at South Field. Cal narrowly defeated Central Washington 14-13 in the other semifinal.

BYU has rolled through this fourth edition of the Varsity Cup, which is a kind of college football playoff of college rugby, outscoring its opponents 256-43 in three matches.

"We expected Arkansas State to play hard and hustle the whole game," BYU rugby head coach David Smyth said in a news release. "We knew what was on the line and we had to stay focused after our last match against Arkansas State. The boys remembered what we worked on in practice, and it paid off."
