Utah State outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell made a home in opposing teams' backfields during his college career, affording him the opportunity to carry his skills into the NFL.

Now he knows where he'll take those pass-rushing skills. Fackrell was selected by the Green Bay with the 88th overall pick in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft on Friday.

"He's kind of an all-around guy, he has the ability to rush the passer, he's got good ability in space, good athlete," Packers general manager Ted Thompson told the Associated Press.

The 6-foot-5 pass rusher — who was projected anywhere from a second to fourth-round prospect — started 40 games for the Aggies, including 13 games as a freshman. Only a knee injury in the first game of his junior year could slow him down.

His senior year saw Fackrell earn two Mountain West defensive player of the week awards. He led USU with 15 tackles for a loss and 12 quarterback hurries (a school record).

Fackrell played quarterback and wide receiver as well as linebacker at Mesa (Arizona) High School before redshirting in 2011 — his first year in Logan.

He was selected just after teammate Nick Vigil went to Cincinnati with the 87th overall pick.

NFL Combine: He finished 12th in his position in the 40-yard dash (4.72 seconds) and sixth in the broad jump (121.0 inches).

Scouting Fackrell: "The former Aggies star has outstanding potential as an NFL pass rusher, particularly if he can add some size to further develop more power." — NFL.com college football analyst Chase Goodbread
