SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Jeffrey R. Holland announced Monday through posts on his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts that the LDS Church has released new resources for people with mental illness.

A new 11-minute Mormon Message video on lds.org features Elder Holland, of the faith's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, discussing his bout with depression and his 2014 general conference talk about mental illness. It also includes many church members talking about the emotional and mental challenges they face and how they are working to overcome them.

A new website, Living With Mental Illness (lds.org/mentalhealth?lang=eng), offers six more lengthy videotaped stories of members as well as messages of understanding, hope and encouragement as well as answers to hard questions about depression, loneliness, suicide and helping loved ones with mental illness.

The video will be released on the church's Gospel Library app on Friday.
