DRAPER — City officials are alerting residents to several road construction projects taking place this summer.
Beginning in July, the Utah Department of Transportation will resurface 12300 South from State Street to 700 East. The project is estimated to last for four to five weeks. The road will remain open in both directions during construction.
In addition, Draper Parkway (12300 South) will be resurfaced from 1300 East to the light rail crossing at 970 East. Duration of this project should be approximately six weeks, starting in June or July. Most of the work will be performed at night to minimize impact to traffic.
Between now and Aug. 14, 300 East will be reconstructed and widened from Pioneer Road to Carlquist Drive. In order to significantly reduce the construction window, 300 East will be closed to through traffic. Residents not living directly off of 300 East should plan to use an alternate route during this time.
Also, a storm drain will be constructed on Manilla Drive from Manti Drive to Traverse Ridge Road. Motorists should expect intermittent street closures to through traffic during construction, which is expected to wrap up in July.
