Salt Lake magazine recently announced its 2017 Dining Award winners. The magazine has covered the food and restaurant scene in Utah for several decades, according to a news release.
The winners, in no particular order, include Manoli's, Pallet, HSL, Himalayan Kitchen, Alamexo, Copper Onion, Tin Angel, Provisions, Tupelo, Stoneground, Table X, The Paris Bistro, Current Fish and Oyster, Frida Bistro, and J & G Grill.
The Best Restaurant in Utah was awarded to Hell's Backbone Grill.
The Best Restaurant Discovery was awarded to Vessel Kitchen.
The Reader's Choice awards were presented to HSL, Salt Lake City; Handle, Park City; Communal, Provo; Hell's Backbone Grill, Moab and southeast Utah; Painted Pony, St. George and southwest Utah; and Tona Shushi, Ogden and northern Utah.
Bombay House was awarded the Best Indian Restaurant. Mandarin was awarded the Best Chinese Restaurant. Red Iguana was awarded Best Mexican Restaurant. Oh Mai was awarded Best Southeast Asian Restaurant. Takashi was awarded Best Japanese Restaurant. Mazza Cafe was awarded Best Middle Eastern Restaurant.
Even Stevens was awarded Best Quick Eats. Plates and Palates was awarded Best Lunch. Ruth's Diner was awarded Best Breakfast. Hub & Spoke Diner was awarded Best Comfort Food.
The following restaurants were named to Salt Lake magazine's Hall of Fame: Log Haven, Mazza, Red Iguana, Aristo's, Takashi, Squatters Pub Brewery and Hell's Backbone Grill.
