DUTCH JOHN, Daggett County — A motorist died Saturday and three others were hospitalized when a vehicle collided with a motor home about 25 miles north of Vernal.
The driver of a Nissan was traveling south on state Route 191 when the vehicle crossed the center median and struck a northbound motor home that was towing another vehicle, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Evan Kirby.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers provided no information about the driver, including whether it was a man or woman. Three of the four passengers in the motor home were injured.
A 94-year-old woman, a passenger, was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital in critical condition. Another woman was taken to Ashley Valley Medical Center in Vernal in serious condition. The driver suffered minor injuries and another passenger, a boy, was not injured, Kirby said.
