SALT LAKE CITY — Real Salt Lake announced the signing of goalkeeper Alex Horwath Monday afternoon, rounding out its platoon of goalkeepers.

A veteran of both SK Brann in Norway's Eliteserien soccer league, as well as Ljungskile SK in Sweden's Division One, Horwath joined the club Sunday after four seasons in Europe.

He is expected to travel with RSL to Orlando, Florida for the last leg of the preseason, pending the receipt of his international transfer certificate (ITC).

Prior to his time in Europe, Horwath, pronounced HORE-vath, suited up for Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls (2011), as well as the Wilmington Hammerheads (2012) and VSI Tampa Bay FC (2013) of the United Soccer League.
