Navy football head coach Ken Niumatalolo just saw what little free time he had as a head coach of a Division 1 college football team shrink considerably. Jason Swensen of the Church News reported that Niumatalolo was called as stake president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Annapolis Maryland stake last Sunday.

Previously, Niumatalolo served in the bishopric and as a high councilor in the same stake, and was serving as the second counselor in the Washington, D.C. North Mission when he received the call.

“One of the miracles of the restored gospel is that two Seventies can come into a stake without knowing anyone and, after a series of very short interviews, can receive revelation as to who the Lord has chosen to lead that stake," Elder Kevin S. Hamilton, a General Authority Seventy for the church, said. "In the reorganization of the Annapolis Maryland stake this weekend, it was crystal clear that President Niumatalolo was prepared and called by the Lord. We were grateful to witness that miracle.”

Kyle Van Noy shares story of how he met Tom Brady for the first time

New England Patriots and former BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy had an interesting story about the first time he met Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after being traded to New England in 2016. NESN shared a clip of Van Noy's press conference where he recalled the meeting.

“It was actually funny,” Van Noy said. “I was super tired that day because I flew in super late from Detroit coming in. So I think I got in at 1 that night, and I got (to Gillette Stadium) at about 5:30 in the morning. Time had went on, I had some meetings, but then it was right before the team meeting, and I had to run to go to the restroom because I was in meetings for so long. I’m washing my hands or whatever, and I get done, and Tom comes up and kind of shakes my hand like, ‘Hi, I’m Tom Brady.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot. Of course.’

But those little things are why he’s where he’s at. Those little things that people don’t pay attention to, those detailed things, that just separates him."
