The Utah Sports Hall of Fame is set to induct six new members into its illustrious group. The six new inductees are Richard Barnes, David Barnes, Chris Hill, Jim Laub, Shauna Rohbock and Jim Shea.
Richard and David Barnes, brothers, are graduates of Skyline High School. The two swam the English Channel, becoming the first Utahns to do so. Chris Hill rose to prominence in the Utah sports community as athletic director of the University of Utah — a position which he held for 31 years. Hill hired legendary Ute coaches Urban Meyer, Kyle Whittingham and Rick Majerus and helped get Utah into the Pac-12. Jim Laub, a Utah State donor, helped finance multiple athletics projects at Utah State, including the Maverik Stadium end zone complex and a basketball practice facility.
Shauna Rohbock, a graduate of Mountain View High School and BYU, is a multi-sport talent. Rohbock won a silver medal for the United States in bobsled at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She also was a professional soccer player in the now-defunct Women’s United Soccer Association. Jim Shea was a star at the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, winning the gold medal in skeleton. He now lives in Park City.

The new members will be inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 14.
