The U.S. Postal Service released a new semipostal stamp this week that will help raise money for veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The postal service announced the new stamp in a tweet on Monday.

According to USA Today, this will be the postal service’s second semipostal stamp — also known as a charity stamp — released for this cause.

USPS feels it is something that should be of public interest nationwide.

“The Postal Service is honored to issue this semipostal stamp as a powerful symbol of the healing process, growth and hope for tens of millions of Americans who experience PTSD,” David C. Williams said in a press release. “Today, with the issuance of this stamp, the nation renews its commitment to raise funds to help treat soldiers, veterans, first responders, health care providers and other individuals with this condition.”

Williams, who is the vice chairman of the Board of Governors of USPS, was responsible for the dedications of the new stamp.

While regular stamps cost only $0.55, the “Healing PTSD” stamps, which feature a sprouting plant amidst fallen leaves, are being sold for $0.65.

All proceeds obtained from the selling of these stamps will go to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and will help fund PTSD research, according to ABC News.
