LOGAN — Police say a confrontation between two men who dated the same woman — an ex-boyfriend and a current boyfriend — turned deadly Friday.
Dylan Tyson Millan, 23, was shot and killed after getting into an argument with a 26-year-old man, according to Logan police. The gunman is currently dating Millan's ex-girlfriend, said Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge.
Officers were called to an apartment on River Bend Road about 6:30 a.m. Friday on a report of gunshots.
"Officers arrived and located two adult females performing life-saving measures on an adult male," according to a statement from Logan police.
Millan was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said.
Millan had been texting his former girlfriend earlier that morning. He then went to her apartment where several people, including the woman and her current boyfriend, Jeremy Boyle, were inside. At some point after entering the apartment, there was a confrontation between Millan and Boyle, according to Budge, and Millan was shot.
Boyle was cooperating with investigators, he said. As of Friday afternoon, he was still being questioned by police but was not under arrest. Budge said detectives would likely collect evidence and turn it over to the Cache County Attorney's Office to decide whether criminal charges should be filed or if it is a case of self-defense.
Four children all under the age of 7 were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, as well as the woman's mother, police said.
Friends of Millan took to social media Friday to share tributes.
"Still can't believe it. You and your family have been in our lives since we were way young. You were a close friend. Words can't explain how we feel hearing the news," one person wrote.
"U will be missed," another woman said.
