A new poll released Tuesday found every 2020 Democratic presidential candidate would beat President Donald Trump in a head-to-head matchup in New Hampshire, except for Elizabeth Warren.
Emerson Polling found that each of the 2020 Democratic canddiates would beat Trump in a theoretical head-to-head matchup in New Hampshire, which will likely be a battleground state in 2020.
The poll, which had a margin of error of 3 percentage points, only surveyed 1,041 voters between Sept. 6-Sept. 9, The Hill reported.
Former Vice President Joe Biden had the highest results, leading Trump by 10 percentage points with 55% of participants voting for Biden in the poll.
Businessman Andrew Yang was the runner-up, being the top choice for 54% of voters in the theoretical race.
“It is interesting to see Yang outperform his Democratic rivals against Trump. In this case, his lower name recognition may allow voters to idealize his candidacy,” Emerson Polling Director Spencer Kimball said in a statement.
The poll results showed Sanders had 53% of the vote and Harris had 51% of the vote when matched against Trump.
But in this theoretical matchup, Warren loses out — securing only 49% compared to Trump’s 51%.
A previous poll from a Hill-Harris-X survey found that 65% of registered Democrats said it was more important to select a primary nominee who can beat Trump in the 2020 election than one who agrees on their top issue.
