SANDY — One woman is dead after a house fire in Sandy Tuesday afternoon.

Crews from Sandy and Draper fire departments were called to 11200 S. Tall Pines Way after multiple neighbors reported smoke and flames coming from the roof of the structure, Sandy Fire Battalion Chief Michael Bullock said.

Upon entry, crews found an elderly woman dead on the second story of the house, according to Bullock. Her identity was not released.

Bullock said other people were in the house Tuesday, but no injuries were reported, noting that crews “were able to make entry and put the fire out fairly quickly.”

Sandy police and fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which Bullock said left the house uninhabitable and the family displaced.
