Federal prosecutors filed paperwork and evidence in the college admissions scandal that included the alleged fake resume of one of Lori Loughlin’s daughter, The Boston Herald reports.
What’s going on?
- Federal prosecutors added the resume to their response to a motion filed by Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, that requested text messages, interview transcripts and telephone recordings between the FBI and William “Rick” Singer, the key organizer in the college admissions scandal.
- The 12-page response includes a crossed-out list of achievements from one of Loughlin’s daughters — it’s unclear which daughter it is — along with a number of accolades that aren’t true.
- Per Page Six, the high school graduation date lists at 2018, which would make the resume for Olivia Jade since that was her graduation year.
- Page Six said: “Either way, the resume claims that the then-teen was an award-winning crew athlete — even though neither daughter is believed to have ever participated in the sport.”
- Prosecutors said the information Loughlin and Giannulli want doesn’t exist. For example, an interview from Singer doesn’t exist yet, The Boston Herald reports.
Some context
- Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, could be crew recruits for the University of Southern California. The couple pleaded not guilty to the charges.
- The couple has argued that they acted in good faith, claiming they didn’t know what they were donating to when they gave money to the mastermind Singer.
