- “The Rise of Skywalker” — the ninth film in the Skywalker Saga of “Star Wars” films — will drop on Disney Plus on May 4.
For “Star Wars” fans, May 4 is often considered “May the 4th,” or “Star Wars Day,” where fans across the world celebrate the franchise.
- Some fans consider the next day, May 5, as “Revenge of the Fifth” — a reference to the “Star Wars” film “Revenge of the Sith.
Why it matters:
- The addition of “Rise of Skywalker” means the entire Skywalker Saga of “Star Wars” films will be available on Disney Plus. The streaming service is home to other “Star Wars” side projects like “The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
More arrives on ‘Star Wars’ Day
- Disney Plus announced it will air the series finale of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and the premiere of a new behind-the-scenes show of “The Mandalorian” on May 4, too, as I reported for the Deseret News.
