Utah State is officially eligible to go bowling at the end of the season. The Aggies defeated Hawaii 51-31 Saturday afternoon in Logan, powered by a season-best offensive performance. Utah State is now 6-2 overall and 4-1 in Mountain West Conference play.

3:01 — Utah State forces the third Hawaii turnover of the day. Byron Vaughns forces Warriors’ quarterback Brayden Schager to fumble, which is recovered by Poukesi Vakauta.

7:55 — Utah State safety Monte McGary intercepts Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager’s first pass attempt of the game.

8:13 — Utah State had an immediate answer, courtesy of Brandon Bowling. Bowling fielded a Hawaii onside kick and returned it 45-yards for an Aggie touchdown.

8:20 — Hawaii’s Eugene Ford recovered a backward pass from Andrew Peasley and ran it back 70 yards for a Hawaii scoop and score. The Warriors’ two-point try was not successful, though.

10:35 — Utah State breaks its scoring drought with a Connor Coles field goal. Coles third make of the day was from 22 yards. The Aggies now have 564 yards of offense, 406 through the air and another 158 on the ground.

3rd Quarter

Utah State 41, Hawaii 25

0:23 — Hawaii scores on consecutive possessions, this time with a 27-yard touchdown pass from Chevan Cordeiro to Calvin Turner Jr. Turner then caught the two-point conversion. The Warriors were trailing 41-10, but two quick scores have changed the outlook of the game.

2:34 — Hawaii scores for the first time in the second half on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Chevan Cordeiro to Koali Nishigaya.

4:37 — The Aggies are running away with it now. Bonner throws another touchdown pass, a 14-yarder to Brandon Bowling, capping off an 8-play, 69-yard drive. Utah State has completely taken over the game and Bonner is having his best game as an Aggie. His four touchdown passes have matched his career high.

8:12 — Logan Bonner throws his third touchdown pass, a 21-yard strike to tight end Carson Terrell, who ran untouched into the end zone. The Aggies have 456 yards on offense, including 337 through the air.

13:18 — Logan Bonner throws his second touchdown pass of the day, a 46-yarder, this one to senior wide receive Derek Wright. Bonner has now thrown for 214 yards and two scores, completing 14 of 17 passes.

Halftime

Utah State 20, Hawaii 10

0:07 — Sparked by quarterback Andrew Peasley — he found Deven Thompkins for a 45-yard reception — the Aggies score just before the half on a 22-yard Connor Coles field goal.

2:36 — Hawaii scores again, this time on a 29-yard touchdown reception — Chevan Cordeiro to Dedrick Parson. The Warriors drove 64-yards in under three minutes, and Parson had multiple drive defining plays.

8:51 — Hawaii gets on the board for the first time today with a 49-yard field goal by Matthew Shipley. The Warriors drove 43-yards in 10 plays, taking just over three minutes.

12:03 — Utah State’s Connor Coles kicks a 40-yard field goal, improving to 13 of 18 on field goal tries this season. The kick finished off an 11-play, 57-yard drive USU drive.

5:08 — With Hawaii threatening to score and in the red zone, USU defensive end Byron Vaughns tips a Chevan Cordeiro pass and linebacker Cash Gilliam intercepts it.

10:04 — Aggie running back Elelyon Noa rushes for a 3-yard touchdown, capping off a 7-play, 68-yard drive. Noa rushed for 52 yards on the drive, including a 36-yard scamper.
