It’s not often that the Utah football program takes commitments from players who are not on the national radar at least on some level, but that changed this week.

On Tuesday, Florida wide receiver Chris Reed tweeted that he had received a scholarship offer from the Utes — his first from any school, according to 247 Sports — and on Wednesday, he announced his pledge to the program.

Reed’s commitment as part of the Class of 2022 comes just a few days after Texas wide receiver Zion Steptoe decommitted from Utah.

Reed, who plays at Wekiva High in Apopka, Florida, is listed at 6 feet and 190 pounds, according to 247 Sports.

There are now seven players committed to the Utes as part of their 2022 recruiting class.
