The 2021 National Women’s Soccer League’s regular season concluded Sunday, and with that, it became official that former BYU star Ashley Hatch finished the campaign with a league-leading 10 goals, giving her Golden Boot honors.

Hatch edged out three players who finished with nine. Her 10 goals is the fewest a player has needed to win the Golden Boot in NWSL history, dating back to 2013.

Hatch is in her fifth season in the league and fourth with the Washington Spirit (she was the 2017 NWSL Rookie of the Year with the NC Courage before being traded to the Spirit as part of a package for United States Women’s National Team veteran Crystal Dunn).

Hatch and the Spirit will enter the six-team playoff field as the No. 3 seed, and they’ll face her former Courage side in the first round on Nov. 7.
