Warning: This article contains spoilers for “Loki” Episode 4“The Nexus Event.”

“Loki” ended on one of the biggest cliffhangers to date, as several characters met their end — but there’s a post-credits scene with answers.

Ending of ‘Loki’ Episode 4, explained

The fourth episode of “Loki” — titled “The Nexus Event” — ended with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) fighting with the Time Variance Authority in front of the TIme Keepers. They battle TVA agents and Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who has been hoping to end Loki and Sylvie’s lives.

The episode ends with Judge Renslayer evaporating Loki into oblivion, making him disappear.

‘Loki’ post-credits scene

But there’s a post-credits scene for the show. After the credits, a scene appears that shows Loki asking, “Is this Hel? Am I dead?”

We then see Kid Loki, Old Man Loki, a Loki with a hammer and a crocodile Loki standing over him, saying “Not yet ... But you will be, unless you come with us.”

The post-credits scene in Marvel

“Loki” now joins the list of Marvel Cinematic Universe series that have post-credits scenes. We know all the MCU movies except for “Avengers: Endgame” have post-credits scenes. But the MCU shows have only added post-credits scenes after certain episodes.

For example, “WandaVision” added its first post-credits scene after the seventh episode of the season. The episode revealed that Pietro (played by Evan Peters) had teamed up with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) to fight off Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

“WandaVision” had another post-credits scene after the eighth episode of the season, where agent Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) revealed he had a new version of Vision with him, as I explained for the Deseret News.

“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” had a post-credits scene in the fifth episode of the series, where we see John Walker (Wyatt Russell) building a new shield after he lost the Captain America costume for crimes he committed, as I explained for the Deseret News.

The series finale of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” had a post-credits scene where we see Sharon Carter accepting a pardon from the Global Repatriation Council. She then heads outside where she tells someone on the phone that the Super Soldier Serum is out of play. But, she says, she now has access to government secrets, prototypes and weapons.

These post-credits scenes have been a big deal in recent weeks as the “WandaVision” post-credits finale was recently changed to seemingly hint at “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
