Utah cornerback Kenzel Lawler entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, becoming the second Ute to transfer since the beginning of the 2023 season. The news was first reported by Mike Farrell.

Lawler joins safety Jadon Pearson, who entered the portal as a graduate transfer, in the transfer portal. The only players that can transfer before Dec. 5, 2023 are graduate transfers.

Tabbed as a sophomore on Utah’s roster, Lawler has been in school since 2020, when the three-star recruit committed to Utah. Lawler saw the field sparingly on special teams in 2020 and 2021. He played 31 snaps last season at cornerback, according to Pro Football Focus, with a pass breakup, in addition to playing 21 snaps on special teams.
