Black Friday season is officially here. That’s right, it’s a season, not just a day. Retailers are rolling out deals earlier and earlier every year, the Deseret News previously reported, and what used to be a single day of doorbusters has evolved into a weekslong marathon of markdowns.
This year, the official Black Friday lands on Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday following on Dec. 1. However, many major retailers have already launched early deals.
According to Good Morning America‘s deal experts, Black Friday is prime time for “big-ticket” items like TVs, laptops, vacuums, mattresses and kitchen appliances. Meanwhile, Cyber Monday is best for deals on tech accessories, beauty products, software, travel products and fashion.
Retailers are using all of November to introduce waves of discounts, giving shoppers more chances to save.
Here is a breakdown of early Black Friday deals about to begin or already underway.

How to find the best Black Friday deals
Consumer Reports recently shared its top shopping tips for navigating Black Friday. Here are a few of the most useful:
- Start early. Early sales can offer great prices, but some items may drop even lower during Thanksgiving week.
- Shop online when possible. While many sales will appear in stores and online, shoppers may find better inventory and easier price comparisons online.
- Compare prices. Consumers can use tools like Honey, Google Shopping or Consumer Reports Deal Hub to track price history before you buy.
- Join loyalty programs. Members often get early access to deals and can earn rewards toward future purchases.
- Follow retailers on social media. It is a great tool to find more information about exclusive deals and promotions.
