Jay Leno got the show; Conan O'Brien got the love.
"The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" has been nominated for four Emmy Awards; "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" got zero. Zip. Nil. Nada.
And, yes, both were eligible.
The prime-time "Jay Leno Show" was also shut out.
Given the support in Hollywood for Team Coco, it wouldn't be at all surprising if O'Brien's "Tonight Show" wins an Emmy or two.
And that will be deliciously ironic, particularly given that the prime-time Emmy Awards air Aug. 29 on – you guessed it! – NBC. So the network would be in the position of telecasting O'Brien's acceptance speech. Or speeches.
Now THAT would be hilarious.
