Disney Plus launches next week, bringing fans closer to the full Disney catalog of films and television shows than ever before.

But does Disney Plus have good value? The streaming service is one of the cheapest on the market, but its library is relatively small compared to the other platforms.

The new report, which comes from Comparitech, broke down each platform by its cost per month, number of movies, number of TV shows, total number of titles and the cost per title.

Here’s how each breaks down:

DISNEY PLUS

  • Cost: $6.99 per month
  • Movies: 426
  • TV shows: 184
  • Total titles: 610
  • Cost per title: $0.01146

AMAZON PRIME

  • Cost: $12.99 per month
  • Movies: 23,119

Takeaways:

  • Amazon has the biggest library so far among the streaming services with 190% more titles than Disney Plus and 161% more than Hulu.
  • Disney is the least cost effective option. But it will have a slew of Disney content, which will be suitable for several fans.

What they’re saying: “If you’re looking for variety and value for money, Amazon Prime is the clear winner here. But if you’re looking for a catalog of nostalgic must-watches or award-winning original movies and series, Disney Plus or Netflix may be the answer for you,” according to the report.
