Utah native and “Vanderpump Rules” star Lala Kent recently said that she’s excited for “The Real Housewives” franchise to visit Salt Lake City.
The setup: Over the weekend, Andy Cohen announced the new show “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” at the BravoCon fan event, as reported by the Deseret News.
Kent told PageSix at the weekend’s BravoCon event that the show — which takes place in her home state of Utah — will be exciting for her.
- “I’m from Salt Lake City so this was like Christmas for me!” she said. “And I asked (Cohen), I was like, ‘What do you think about it?’ And he was like, ‘It’s going to be so good.’ And I’m not even shocked by that because people that were raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, are crazy. So it’s gonna make the best TV ever. Out of all these cities and they picked my hometown. I’m like, I told them, ‘Ladies, put on for my city. Please!’”
Cast?: Kent said she hasn’t seen the cast list yet. “Best believe when I find out, I will be sliding into all of their DMs!” she told PageSix.
Official: Bravo announced the new “Real Housewives” show in a statement on Saturday. Here’s the official description:
- “‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ takes viewers into an undiscovered world that is about so much more than religion, although the (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is undeniably engrained in the culture. In the majestic mountains of Utah is a hidden social circle made up of successful women who have created their own paradise filled with luxury homes, shopping sprees and multi-million-dollar businesses and brands. With Hollywood’s exclusive Sundance Film Festival in their backyards, these Type-A power-brokers are accustomed to rubbing elbows with A-listers and what party list you are on means everything. They have mastered running wildly successful enterprises by day and enjoy après ski at the finest resorts by night, all the while raising extraordinary and unconventional families. Here perfection is not an aspiration, it’s a mandate. They hold themselves and each other to an extremely high standard and never hold back when things go sideways, but lord knows they are always there for each other when they need it most.”
Consider: “Real Housewives” began in 2006 with “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” The show has aired for 14 seasons, wrapping in other cities, states and locations, like New Jersey, Vancouver, Bangkok and several others.
