A new keyframe from “Avengers: Endgame — The Art of the Movie” revealed that the Hulk and Thanos almost had a second fight, according to ComicBook.com.
The frame from the book shows the Hulk punching Thanos right in the jaw, sending him flying back.
Flashback: The scene would have been the second fight between Thanos and Hulk. In “Avengers: Infinity War,” the Hulk and Thanos faced off aboard Thor’s ship. Thanos easily won the encounter, which gave him pause from joining in the final fight against Thanos.
- In “Endgame,” there were reportedly plans for Hulk to fight Thanos again. But the idea was scrapped.
What they’re saying: “The fight sequence would have revealed the smart Hulk in ‘Infinity War’. He was going to be arguing with the Hulk as he was Banner inside of the Hulkbuster, and just as Cull Obsidian is about to murder him, smart Hulk bursts out and that’s where he comes to some resolve. I think they just decided to save it for ‘Endgame’ and not do it in ‘Infinity War,’” said Ryan Meinerding, Marvel head of visual development, in the art book, according to Animated Times.
- “It’s a tantalizing prospect, as ‘Endgame’ would have offered Hulk a shot at sweet, sweet revenge. Then again, including said scene may well have detracted from the Herculean four-way fight between Iron Man, Thor, Cap and Thanos, which delivered more crowd-pleasing moments than the last five MCU films combined,” according to We Got This Covered.
Elsewhere: Mark Ruffalo reportedly said at Tokyo Comic Con that he would like to see the Hulk fight the Wolverine.
