ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney is taking its “Star Wars” immersive experience to space.
What you’ll find: The new hotel will allow guests to stay in a location that is made to look like a real starcruiser in the “Star Wars” universe. The ship will be called the Halcyon.
Length: Stays are only for two days on the fake “Star Wars” ship.
Events: The new hotel will include a lightsaber training course, where guests will use their lightsabers to block shots from a training device, much like Luke Skywalker does in “A New Hope.”
Characters: The ship will also allow guests to interact with roaming “Star Wars” characters and participate in “Star Wars”-themed adventures on the ship.
- “There are characters on the ship, and many you will be meeting for the first time. It’s a dangerous time in the galaxy and you should be wary about who you make allegiances with because your choices matter. The choices will affect how your ‘Star Wars’ story unfolds,” said Ann Morrow Johnson, a creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, according to the Associated Press.
More facts: Guests can also just relax and play games, like Sabacc, and enjoy time on their own.
- Every window will have a view of the galaxy and space.
- There will be hidden spots within the ship.
- Choices you make on the ship will affect how your personal story progresses.
