SALT LAKE CITY — “The Conners” is looking to bring Katey Sagal back to the show for a significant season two role, TV Line reports.
Sagal, who starred on “Married With Children,” would return as the character Louise, who went to high school with Dan (John Goodman) and Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) and later left the town of Lanford to create a music career. Louise made a brief play for Dan’s heart in the first season. But Dan, having lost his wife Roseanne, turned her away.
ABC has yet to offer an official statement on whether Sagal will return.
“The Conners” is slated to return on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the 8 p.m. ET slot on ABC. The show will have 19 half-hour episodes, according to Deadline.
“The Conners” had a rather successful first season on ABC. The show averaged 9.5 million viewers, ranking as the season’s top new comedy in total viewers, according to Deadline.
