Peacock — the new streaming service from NBC that will debut this year — will be revealed to investors Thursday. But there are already some details leaking about what to expect:
What’s going on: NBCUniversal and Comcast will show off their new streaming service, Peacock, later Thursday to investors, Deadline reports.
- The streaming service isn’t expected to be much of a game changer.
- Peacock won’t hold all exclusive content. Per Deadline, NBCU and Comcast will continue to license out programs from Universal to HBO, for example.
- Peacock will be available to Comcast users. Questions remain about the general public getting access from the first day.
Prices: Costs mean everything for streaming services. Like others, Peacock appears to have multiple tiers based on how many ads you can handle, according to Deadline.
Possible prices are expected to be announced Thursday, according to The Associated Press.
- A free tier is being considered for Comcast subscribers and, possibly, anyone who wants it. Of course, the free level would probably come with a bunch of ads, like Hulu.
- A middle tier would include ads and have a full list of shows to watch.
- The top level would be ad-free.
