Sony posted a cryptic Tweet Wednesday that has fans from the gaming and movie communities scratching their heads.
What happened: Sony posted a tweet that showed a number of video game controller emojis alongside a few different creature emojis, too.
- The emojis include a dinosaur, turtle, snail, dog, cheetah, cow, caterpillar and fish.
- “Just some friends playing video games.”
PlayStation 5: The shape of the emojis looks a bit like the No. 5, which would align with the news of a PlayStation 5 dropping soon. Sony CEO Jim Ryan confirmed the PS5 would likely launch in the holiday 2020 season, according to GameSpot.
Social media: The reaction online hints at a PlayStation 5 announcement, too.
Another theory: There’s another theory out there that this could be a reference to an old PlayStation game called Tokyo Jungle. According to ComicBook.com, the game received mixed reaction so it’s unlikely a sequel would be made nor receive this much promotion.
