Multiple reports from Marvel news and rumors sites suggest that Maguire and Garfield will join the third “Spider-Man” film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- There’s already been some indication that Jamie Foxx will reprise his role of Electro — seen in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” opposite Garfield’s Peter Parker — in the new “Spider-Man” movie.
- We’ve already seen reports that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will join the final “Spider-Man” film, too, which means moving through different universes won’t be a problem, which I wrote about before for the Deseret News.
According to the early reports, Garfield and Maguire would help Holland’s Spider-Man defeat multiple villains.
“Both Maguire and Garfield will appear in Tom Holland’s universe during the final act to help defeat all of the Spider-Men’s combined foes,” according ta report from Fandomwire.
And we’re not even done talking about the villains. There have been other rumors that Venom (Tom Hardy) will battle Holland’s Spider-Man in a movie. Most of the rumors suggest it would happen in “Venom 2.” Still, “Spider-Man 3” is an option.
Industry insiders said there is some talk of connecting the different Spider-Man universes, like how it was done in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
