McDonald’s said it saw sales jump 4.6% in the three-month period that ended on Sept. 30 compared to the same time period in 2019, according to CNN.
- In the second quarter, McDonald’s saw sales drop 8.7 % at stores open for at least one year.
So what changed?
McDonald’s added the Travis Scott meal to its lineup, along with spicy chicken nuggets.
- The meal — a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, a medium fries with BBQ sauce and a Sprite — became a limited-time item that was difficultfor some consumers to find.
- “We’ve created a program that’s so compelling to our customers that it’s stretching our world-class supply chain; and if demand continues at these levels, more restaurants will break supply,” McDonald’s said in a memo to employees, according to USA Today.
