A new “Star Wars” rumor posits that Bo-Katan Kryze might be joining an already confirmed new “Star Wars” animated series instead of getting her own special.

What’s happening:

Multiple reports suggest that Bo-Katan would join “The Bad Batch,” a spinoff to “The Clone Wars” animated series that will focus on a group of clone troopers in the years after the fall of the Republic.

Cinelinx reports Bo-Katan would be featured in the show after making her live-action debut in “The Mandalorian.”

The show is set to take place after the Siege of Mandalore — seen in “The Clone Wars” — and before she took hold of the Darksaber in “Star Wars Rebels,” so it would cover a lot of ground in the “Star Wars” timeline, according to ComicBookMovie.com.

What about her own spinoff?

In October, I wrote about how there was talk for Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) to get her own spinoff series alongside Cara Dune from “The Mandalorian.” Bo-Katan was recently seen in season 2, episode 3 of “The Mandalorian.”

  • She did not meet Dune during her appearance, but there’s still four episodes of season 2 left, so the two could cross paths.

The unknown:

It’s unclear if the change — if it’s real and not merely a rumor — is linked to recent controversy with Gina Carano, who voices Dune and has been under fire on Twitter recently for sharing political beliefs.

More on ‘The Bad Batch’

“The Bad Batch” would focus on a group of genetically-modified clones who explore the galaxy during the post-Clone Wars era, finding out how they fit into the universe now led by the Galactic Empire, as I wrote about before for the Deseret News.
