Disneyland expanded the Downtown Disney district on Nov. 19, reopening a part of California Adventure Park for shoppers and California visitors, and thousands of people showed up.

What happened:

Disneyland reopened Buena Vista Street in California Adventure on Nov. 19, giving people access to more outdoor shopping and dining areas amid the coronavirus pandemic.

  • The rest of Disneyland and California Adventure Park remain closed due to the pandemic.
  • “Even without rides, it’s the first time they could set foot into a California Disney park since March,” according to SF Gate.

Thousands of people lined up outside the location, per SF Gate. Many fans wore their Disney gear and snapped photos to celebrate the opening of the district, a slight fix for those wanting to see the reopening of Disneyland.

Downtown Disney will be having a number of Christmas and Thanksgiving treats available as the holiday season approaches. The park will also add holiday decorations across the park, too, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
