“The best way to reduce coronavirus fear is to spread Christmas cheer.”

That’s more or less how the quote from “Elf” goes, right?

The coronavirus pandemic has canceled events, forced closures throughout the world and encouraged the practice of social distancing. People, in turn, have been brightening up their communities by pulling out the Christmas lights and decorating, according to the New York Post.

And now the Hallmark Channel is getting into the Christmas spirit.

The network has planned a special Christmas movie marathon for this weekend, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Over the weekend, Hallmark will air 27 original ”Countdown to Christmas” movies from recent years. The event starts with Candace Cameron Bure’s “A Christmas Detour,” which airs Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m. MDT, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The marathon includes several appearances from Bure and “Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar. It also features Kristin Chenoweth’s “A Christmas Love Story,” Dolly Parton’s “Christmas at Dollywood” and “Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays,” starring Priscilla Presley.

The 27-movie marathon concludes Sunday, March 22 at 4 p.m. MDT with “Christmas in Rome,” starring Lacey Chabert.
