“Thor: Love and Thunder” will feature characters from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series, ComicBook.com reports.
What’s going on?
- Vin Diesel, who plays Groot in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, told ComicBook.com that the upcoming “Thor” film will include the Guardians of the Galaxy characters — a spoiler he wasn’t sure he was supposed to reveal. The film will be released ahead of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which Diesel will star in.
- Diesel said: “I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took ‘The Suicide Squad’ so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also — the director talked to me about ‘Thor’ will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
A little backstory
- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) boarded the Guardians’ ship at the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” hinting that Thor and the Guardians would link up in a future film.
- That said, it’s possible the Guardians will make a cameo appearance, CBR.com reported.
- “As such, it makes sense for the Guardians to appear in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ in some capacity. Diesel didn’t offer any hints about how long the team will stick around; it’s just as possible for them to put in a guest appearance as it is for them to play a more central role,” according to CBR.com.
